“If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours.” Sherrilyn Kenyon
The newlywed Clancy’s have about 10 years of history behind them already. It began as the classic high school sophomore/freshman crush, sweet notes, and a history class together. After years of separation, Matt and Kathleen were connected again. After a 4 hour phone call from a long lost love, a now military boy living the whole way in Tennesee; it was like nothing had ever changed.
Their day was classic. Kathleen walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father in his navy blues, her face veiled. Matt had 3 absent groomsmen, Army men who had been deployed. The hot summer sun did not affect those big smiles on the bride and groom’s faces- after this day, their long years of separation would come to an end.
Kathleen said that the first time she was in Matt’s arms after years of being apart, “The world literally stopped.” Every embrace between this sweet bride and groom on their wedding day seemed nothing short of world-stopping, their excitement was palpable. We so enjoyed watching these two finally join together in marriage.
It is an honor to be a part of a couple’s wedding day every time, but we felt especially welcome with Matt and Kathleen- they welcomed us in like we were old friends. And we both left feeling like we would be thinking about this day for a long time. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Clancy!
