“We were together, I forget the rest.” -Walt Whitman
Jack and Kristine’s wedding day began with the heat of Indian summer. It may have been mid-October, but it felt more like mid-June. After the pair and their bridal party spent their morning primping and preparing, after all of their individual photos were taken, dark and mighty clouds rolled in behind the white grand barn at Stoltzfus, creating a striking contrast. Curious eyes peered over their shoulders during the outdoor ceremony as the pair exchanged vows, wondering if at any moment the skies would break open. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the very moment after the pair exchanged rings and a kiss and were pronounced husband and wife, the slow drip drip of raindrops began. Guests rushed to the barn remaining miraculously dry. If it’s going to rain on your wedding day, this was the best case scenario!
Jack and Kristine seemed to be unphased by the weather. These two have to be some of the sweetest humans on the face of the earth. Jack has the most endearing smile that never once seemed forced- as a groom with all of these photos, that is a very rare quality. One that we certainly appreciate! Kristine has the same quality, not to mention how gorgeous she looked with her blonde curls and Disney princess-like quiet confidence and sweet demeanor. Their couple session may have been under the cover of an umbrella but these two never uttered a single complaint.
As their guests enjoyed the celebration in the comfort of the grand barn, Tessa and I felt determined to capture as many couple portraits as humanly possible since their session was interrupted by the weather. Again, we never heard a complaint and the pair simply went along with our crazy requests, posing and nose-rubbing and gazing into each other’s eyes for as long as we asked them to.
Jack and Kristine, we so appreciate your trust in us to capture your gorgeous day! We had a wonderful time getting to know you two and laughing through your late evening Converse photoshoot!
Hope you enjoyed that honeymoon! We wish you all the best and hope you enjoy getting to relive your day through these sneak peeks.
