The excitement for this day could be felt from the second Haley & I walked through the doors of the DiPeso’s home. The food spread was set for a king, final touches of hair and makeup were being placed and chatter of the day to come flowed from room to room. Growing up outside of Baltimore, Kristin is an avid Orioles fan. She proudly represented her team in the iconic orange jersey. Kristin is also a HUGE Disney fan, and on this day, as the tiara was placed and she stepped into her gown, she was giving Cinderella and all her friends a run for their crown.
“My Big Fat Greek Wedding” was referenced more than a few times. Kristin comes from a large, wonderfully dynamic, Greek family. James is a more reserved individual, yet he seamlessly fits into the dynamic. This couple balances each other so well. The ceremony was held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church where the two were wed, holding true to the rich Greek heritage that runs deep in Kristin’s family.
The limo pulled up to wisp this couple away to their party. Tucked away, alone in the car, (besides me :)), you could feel them fall at ease with one another. Even through the beautiful chaos a wedding day can bring, they find their center with one another. Upon arrival at The Grand Lodge we were gifted the most magical golden hour. The hills were drenched in warm light, and the two didn’t blink once when I asked “Hey, wanna go climb that hill?”.
Although the temperature was chilly, not once did these two complain. They embraced every moment of the day together. The celebration that followed was one for the books. Filled with plenty of dancing, heartfelt speeches and of course traditional Greek traditions. It was pretty much the best day ever.
We couldn’t be more excited for you both! CONGRATS!
