“I don’t want the heavens or the shooting stars. I don’t want gemstones or gold. I have those things already. I want… a steady hand. A kind soul.” -Katherine Hepburn
September 17th was neither too warm nor too cold, too sunny nor too cloudy, too busy nor too boring. This day was well balanced, smooth and steady. I see this as a reflection of the couple we were working with.
Amanda is strikingly gorgeous with her blonde hair and blue eyes that twinkle when she smiles. She had been so enjoying the morning getting ready with her girls, but as the time drew near to walk down the aisle, this beautiful bride started to jitter with nerves.
We took Amanda around one side of a corner and her groom to the other, allowed their hands to touch but their faces to be hidden. Amanda’s nerves instantly melted into happy tears as she and Brett talked of the day and expressed their excitement.
Brett is Amanda’s deep breath.
He is burly and manly but simultaneously sweet and concerned. He would find her from across any room and his smile would reach all the way up to his eyes.
The Doan’s had a beautiful event at the Stoltzfus Homestead with sunflowers and cowboy boots around every corner. The food was to die for (I told Tessa it’s the best wedding food I’ve ever had…and I’ve had A LOT), there were lots of happy tears, lots of laughter, and lots of gorgeous photos. We are so excited to share Brett and Amanda’s day with you! It was such a joy, Mr. and Mrs. Doan; congratulations and enjoy Jamaica!
