“Love is always bestowed as a gift – freely, willingly and without expectation. We don’t love to be loved; we love to love.” Leo Buscaglia
The double header weekend ended back at our familiar Stoltzfus Homestead. The rainy weekend continued but Troy and Kayla’s day was one of those that we couldn’t have planned the rain’s schedule any better ourselves. It managed to hold off during all of the photos and began only minutes before the ceremony started and continued well into the evening. But the rest of the day was perfectly cloud-covered to give us the most gorgeous light to photograph this beautiful couple.
Behind every quiet and calm groom is a bride full of life. Kayla was so much fun to work with! She’s easy to talk to, very open, full of emotion and expression, and I would imagine always the life of the party. Plus, have you SEEN her? Gorgeous. Troy reigns her in with his steadiness. He might take a few minutes to warm up, but what’s obvious right off the bat is his love for his girl. Grooms that can’t avoid showing emotion when it comes to the bride are the sweetest because you know that their love runs deep.
This pair was certainly ready for this wedding day to be here! They have been busy buying a home, Troy has spent weeks at a time traveling for work, Kayla has been busy playing softball and finishing her Master’s degree, and all the while planning their wedding day at a venue that was over an hour away from home. Seasons like this can take a toll on couples, but these two seemed to breathe a sigh of relief as the day began to roll and they realized that all of their planning had come to this moment, they’ve done what they can do, and they will leave a married couple. Leaving for a Hawaiian honeymoon the next day helped too, I’m sure.
Congratulations, Troy and Kayla! We hope you enjoyed Hawaii! We are so thrilled to share these photos with you, thank you for including us in your day!
