Joey & Sydni {Wedding by Haley}

a difference.”

Joey & Sydni {Wedding by Haley}

Since Sydni was a little girl she had dreamed of getting married under a weeping willow tree. After a bit of searching, they came all the way from Maryland to the Stoltzfus Homestead for the beautiful willow trees on the property. It was clear the whole day was a dream come true for this bride – from the little details, the dress and flowers, to the most important component – her groom beside her – everything was perfect.

It all started about 6 years ago when Sydni needed a prom date. She happened to mention this to her friend, Joey, and he offered to take her. A “get to know each other” date before the prom sparked something between them and they realized that being around each other felt natural and easy. In the past few years they have adopted their dog, Zoey, recently bought a house, and have gone on countless camping trips together. These two are the kind of people that you meet and you just instantly feel welcomed. They are so easy-going, they clearly love each other and both have the biggest smiles that I don’t think left their faces all day.

Under cloudless, sunny skies in the shade of the big willow tree, Joey and Sydni said their vows to each other surrounded by family and friends. The rain held off just long enough for the ceremony and some cocktails after. Someone was clearly watching over us because just as we were finishing photos, we felt the first rain drops. Everyone hurried into the Grand Barn and listened to the rain on the tin roof as it down-poured through dinner. But Joey and Sydni didn’t let the rain get them down for even a moment, and when a rainbow appeared they went right outside with their umbrella.

The party kicked off as the sun set and the bride and groom started with a bouquet and garter toss that brought everyone to the dance floor. The guests stayed on their feet the rest of the night celebrating with the newlyweds. Outside there was a fire to relax when the dancing tired you out, and a photobooth to commemorate the day.

We LOVED this couple and being a part of this day, and we wish you all the best in the years to come!
