A quiet morning on the quaint Smoker farm in Lancaster County, white tables and chairs tucked in the backyard between the farmhouse and a rippling pond, and not a cloud in the sky – this is how Becca and Joel’s day started. Becca and Joel are a model couple, in many ways. There was not a hint of anxiety in the air as the couple got ready to say their vows. The bridal party and both families were just as relaxed, the still calmness was a theme of the day.
In the barn, Joel and the guys buttoned up and tied their ties and the girls prepped in the house below, while Becca was content to sit and read letters in a journal Joel gave to her that morning. The bridesmaids were all smiles with a few tears when they saw their best friend all dressed up in white.
Guests found their seats in a secluded section of yard, tucked away and surrounded by trees with a view of the sun-drenched field in the distance. Joel’s sweet smile was contagious as he marveled at his bride walking down the aisle, escorted by her father. The pastor spoke about the couple’s relationship, sharing the stand out moments that will make for a life of love for Becca and Joel.
Dinner and games continued after the ceremony – Spikeball in particular, being an important part of the day, as it is what brought Becca and Joel together. The sun hung low in the sky, covering the venue in the most beautiful golden light. We were able to steal the newlyweds away for a few moments to take it all in as they watched their guests laugh and dance from afar.
We can’t think of two people more deserving of the love they were surrounded with by their closest friends and families on this day, and we have no doubts that it will continue as they create a beautiful future together. Congratulations Joel and Becca!
