“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.” -Ann Landers
Jess and Harry gave us another gorgeous Stoltzfus Homestead wedding day to add to the books. However, this day kind of had a mind of its own. When we arrived, the air was thick and heavy, but the sun was shining. There were dark storm clouds looming in the west, but all of the radars led us to believe that there would be no storms until evening. Then, the clouds became slightly grey. The groom and his groomsmen were tucked away, preparing for their photos. The girls were in the carriage house putting on the final touches of makeup and spritzes of hairspray, and helping the bride step into her gorgeous gown. Within minutes, the weather took on a new face and the wind grew strong and the clouds unleashed torrential rains. Minutes ticked by. Then, just as the girls were all ready for their photos, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared, and it was as if it never happened. In ideal timing, all of our photos were taken, guests arrived, the bride walked down the aisle, everyone was seated in the Grand Barn for dinner, and as the toasts took place, the skies unleashed their fury yet again. But talk about PERFECT TIMING. There was nothing interrupted by the weather. That’s amazing.
This pair was a blast to spend time with on this July day. They seem to enjoy each other completely. They laughed more than any couple I think that I’ve ever seen. Jess has this goofy humor and sweet scrunchy faced laugh that bursts and makes you smile right along with her. Harry is calm and even keeled and his eyes for her are all painted with stars. A perfect match.
Their reception was filled with fun and socializing. They have a deep appreciation for good food and picked out the most delicious meal to serve their guests, courtesy of the wonderful Hess Catering. Guests played lawn games complete with oversized Jenga, Tic Tack Toe, and a giant Connect 4, crafted by the bride’s father. There was also the greatest photobooth we have EVER seen – a retro, green, VW van with lights and props that made the most amazing setup.
Thanks for inviting us to take part in your big day, Jess & Harry! We so enjoyed it and hope you are having the greatest time honeymooning in Mexico!
