“Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible—it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.”
—Barbara de Angelis
Where do I even begin with Jason and Krystyne? I just like them so much.
Krystyne is bubbly and outgoing and Jason is more quiet but yet has a strength and sweetness about him. He has this ability to bring out this contagious laughter from Krystyne. And this bride so clearly adores her groom.
Christmas has arrived in Philadelphia and with it, cooler weather and plenty of tourists. With the two getting ready downtown we met up to talk strategy a few days prior to their wedding. It is always so exciting to meet just days before the big event, somewhat the calm before the storm.
The big day arrived in winter fashion. Sunny skies but frigid temperatures. The girls prepped and primed with the most amazing view of City Hall directly out their window. The champagne was popped, bobby pins placed and the day was underway.
The gentleman got ready at Jason and Krystyne’s home, only blocks away from City Hall. They strolled through the streets taking on the weather like champs.
The ceremony took place at St. John the Evangelist; a beautiful church with reaching ceilings and exquisite architecture. One of the most beautiful singing voices I have every heard, welcomed guests as they arrived into the warmth of the building.
Afterwards, Victoria, myself, the bridal party and the new Mr. and Mrs. took on Rittenhouse Square Park. Let me tell you, it was cold. Like can’t feel your toes and nose, cold. We sped through the bridal party pictures allowing the crew to return to the party in the limo and spent the remaining time with Jason & Krystyne. While the winds blew this couple took on the temperatures with the best attitude I have seen all year. They kissed in front of the twinkling lights that accompanied the Christmas tree and Jason warmed his bride with plenty of big hugs.
As expected, the reception was a huge party from start to finish. Jason & Krystyne are clearly loved and supported by so many friends and family and this could be seen all day. It is evident they have not only invested in the relationship with one another but with all of those close to them.
My favorite thing about our couples is when they become our friends throughout the process and I can absolutely say this happened with Jason & Krystyne. I am so extremely honored to not only have had the opportunity to photograph their day but also to have gotten to know them throughout the process. They are the kind of couple that you are better for simply by being around them.
Best wishes to the new Mr. & Mrs. Garrison
