“I swear I couldn’t love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow.”
— Leo Christopher
Oh how I had been looking forward to this day…
And I wasn’t the only one. Evan and Casey have been together nearly a decade, so the sentimentality of every aspect of their wedding was at a ten. These highschool sweethearts unintentionally wound up at the same University; fate in its purest form. It was at Temple that I met both Evan and Casey. So many of my college memories are laced with their presence, so to be able to photograph their wedding was a true honor.
From the very beginning of the day, each moment exceeded the next. From the calm and radiant bride, to the bubbly and fun bridesmaids, to the well mannered groomsmen. Casey and Evans pups even joined the party, sharing their kisses with all who would receive.
This couple picked one of the most spectacular ceremony sights I have seen to date. Set on the side of a mountain, the view was breathtaking. They said their I do’s above the treetops, a backdrop of distant green trees that contrasted perfectly with the blue of the bridesmaids and the light grey of the groomsmen. But beyond the visual beauty was the beauty that was found in the words that were spoken by the pastor. Four definitions of love, each one at a deeper level. His words had this way of bringing reality to the beauty and mess that marriage can be but their was such a confidence in this couple. In this day and age of broken marriages, there is not one doubt that these two have what it takes.
There is such a quiet strength to couples that have been together for years, a depth that can only be achieved with years of good times but also the struggles. This day was such a celebration of that depth.
If I knew anything about Evan and Casey I KNEW their reception would be a party, and a party it was. I even got to transform from a wedding photographer into a wedding guest during cocktail hour and I was so very grateful to be able to truly celebrate with these friends. They were in great hands with Haley and Victoria who covered the party, from the intros, to the speeches and cake cutting. Through the glass windows, the sun broke through the clouds, just in time to drench the mountain side with it’s golden light as dinner and dancing continued indoors.
May 27th was epic, from start to finish. Thank-you Evan and Casey for allowing us to be a part of it!
