Liz and Corey’s day was simply joyful and fun all day long. We started out at Mendenhall Inn where the bride and groom to-be were getting ready. Liz’s bridesmaids were such a fun group, so excited about another one of the girls getting married. And from what I heard later Vicki had a similar experience downstairs with the guys.
Just a short drive away is the most magical garden I’ve ever seen, where Liz and Corey decided to go for their first look and portraits, and to have some time to just themselves before the whirlwind of events started. With every turn as we walked through the garden we just gasped and ooh’ed and ahh’ed as we found new places for photos. Not to mention that the weather on August 24th could not have been more perfect for a summer wedding – blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and temperatures in the 70s – what more could we ask for!
When we finally had to pull ourselves away from the gorgeous views, we headed back to Mendenhall and met up with the rest of the bridal party and families. Guests soon began to arrive and find their seats in the courtyard. Corey took his place at the front of the aisle, and beamed as he saw Liz at the opposite end. Readings by both of Liz’s brothers, and a song sung by Corey’s sister made the ceremony even more special. After the two said their I-dos and sealed it with a kiss, the processed back down the aisle under a flurry of white petals.
The ballroom twinkled with gold accents as the National Park themed tables were set for guests to find their places. The dance floor opened with the newlyweds sharing their first dance, before Corey shared a dance with his mom, and Liz a dance with her mom and uncle in memory of her dad. After dinner the dance floor was filled to capacity as everyone danced and celebrated the new Mr and Mrs Klumpp. We had the best time capturing this day, and being a part of such a fun celebration! We hope you’re having the best time in Alaska beginning your new lives of adventures together.
