Alex and Jess met long ago in their high school days. It was a church youth group that brought them together, and through all the changes that life has brought them, they have continued to choose each other. They have a fun relationship that was built first on a strong friendship. Jess loves that Alex’s personality balances her own, and Alex loves Jess’s pure heart.
Last Sunday, friends and family from all parts of their lives gathered at Riverdale Manor to witness their marriage. After spending the morning separately getting ready with their friends, Alex made his way to the end of the aisle to await his bride. As she appeared at the end of the aisle, the guests stood, but Jess and Alex’s eyes were locked and both couldn’t stop smiling as they walked toward each other. The couple exchanged rings and their vows, and sealed their union with a kiss.
As with any early summer wedding, the sky threatened rain as the afternoon progressed, but we had just enough time to take advantage of the lush green landscaping around Riverdale for photos before the raindrops started to fall.
Back inside, the crisp white ballroom was being decorated with pops of navy, greens, and pink peonies. After some appetizers and drinks, the guests made their way to their tables. The bridal party was announced, followed by the newlyweds, and they shared their first dance. A few toasts were made by best friends of the bride and groom, reminding everyone of what they already knew – Jess and Alex are perfect together. The new Mr. and Mrs. danced the night away with their bridal party, and spent time catching up with family. At the end of the night, the best smelling send off took place – guests lined up and tossed dried lavender as the bride and groom exited the reception!
