Winston & Katherine {Wedding by Tessa}

“If I forget
to announce
appreciation
for the beauty
below your surface,
forgive me,
and trust I see it
even more
than the perfection
atop it.”
– Tyler Knott Gregson
Winston & Katherine {Wedding by Tessa}

Where do I even begin with this one?

After having one of our favorite engagement sessions to date with Winston and Katherine, we had high hopes for this day. You may remember seeing their images. Last summer, we spent the evening at a lantern festival, chatting about first dates and wedding plans and ending the evening amongst 10,000 souring lanterns. It was magical.

Not knowing it was possible, but this day exceeded all of our expectations. Winston and Katherine have a special kind of love. They are individually kind and sweet and together they bring out all of the good things from one another. Their adoration for one another can be felt within moments of being with them and their quirky sides is the perfect touch to their relationship.

Our morning began with myself hanging with the girls and Haley prepping with the boys. Of course, Winston & Katherine chose the best crew to spend their day with. Katherine, with the help of her mother, slipped into her white dress, covered in laced and topped the look off with the most perfect, elegant shaw. She was breathtaking.

We then traveled to Swarthmore college, a gorgeous university that feels like you took a slice out of Europe. The two chose to do a first look where the bride and groom kept their eyes closed until at just the same moment. Their reactions were equally sweet and adoring. We continued with our day, taking advantage of the GORGEOUS weather and even prettier scenery. The two were quickly lost in one another’s presence.

We met up with the rest of the crew at their chosen ceremony spot, The Old Mill in Rose Valley, where the white chairs were lined and the final touches were placed on what was the MOST beautiful floral arbor I have ever seen. Katherine shared another first look, this time with her father who beamed with pride.

The ceremony took place and friends told the couple’s story. All eyes filled with tears as Katherine proclaimed her vows while attempting to hold back her own tears. Everything about this day was sentimental and sweet, just like Winston & Katherine.

Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres in the courtyard and made their way to the reception. The introduction were made announcing the newest Mr. & Mrs. in town. Following, a choreographed dance took place with not only the bride & groom but Katherine and her Father. It was such a celebration, from the dining to the dancing.

We couldn’t have loved this day (or this couple more). Thank-you for allowing us to be a part of it!
