“He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not know where he ended and she began.” -Leo Tolstoy’s Anna KareninaMatt & Megan are the sweetest pair and from the beginning, they were simply meant to be.
It was a cloudy day in Lancaster County as we pulled up to The Booking House, a gem in Manheim and truly one of our favorite spots to photograph at. The girls were busy with last minute hair and makeup details. The boys relaxed with a glass of whiskey, tying their ties and bowties and buttoning their suits.
Megan’s dress patiently awaited its debut; a classic gown marked with casual elegance and femininity. Her mom helped to zip her in and the last minute touches of the gold diamond earrings were placed. The girls slipped into their dusty blue, floor length gowns and the day was set to begin.
A quick first look with Megan’s first love, her dad, took place and following, Megan got to got see her groom. Matt stood with anticipation, waiting for the word that he could turn and see his bride. Once he did, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her for the rest of the day.
The whole afternoon had this unhurried peace about it. Often times when a couple does not have an engagement session, it takes a little more work on our end to make sure they are comfortable in front of the camera. Not the case with this couple. They were simply content to be with one another. Quick kisses and such ease of interaction made for authenticity in front of our lenses. A dream bride and groom from start to finish.
Indoors, guests arrived and were welcomed with a glass of champagne. The ceremony took place in the history restored warehouse, complete with wooden beams, exposed brick and of course, the multiple crystal chandeliers.
The guests ventured to cocktail hour while the magic began as the ceremony room was flipped into the most exquisite reception space. From the moment we saw the barnwood head table; with tall candelabra, the most beautiful greens from Petals with Style and enveloped in white drapery, our jaw couldn’t leave the ground (and our cameras couldn’t stop snapping). This layout definitely took the prize for most beautiful ceremony space we have seen.
Dinner was served as the celebration continued. The dance floor was packed with this fun bunch. Just before the evening ended a special treat arrived in the form of an ice cream truck where guests indulged their sweet tooth.
Days like these make us so very grateful for the privilege it is to photograph such sweet love stories. Thank-you for allowing us to be a part of it!
