They say about love: when you know, you know. And for Eli and Whitney, they’ve proven this to be a very true statement. Eli is Indiana born and raised, Whitney is from the mountains of central Pennsylvania. The two met at a wedding in Arizona where he was the best man and she was the maid of honor. In a whirlwind they became Mr. & Mrs. Whaley at Whitney’s home church in Danville, surrounded by their family and friends who came from all over to witness their union.
There was a sharp chill in the air and a wind that came in waves on this mid-November day. As we wound up the mountain roads to our destination from Lancaster, we made note of how gorgeous the few remaining splashes of colored leaves were on the high hills, and how breathtaking it must have looked short weeks before the winds ran away with them.
Whitney looked timeless in her lace-sleeved wedding gown, her eyes as blue as the autumn sky. Her quiet demeanor held a touch of nerves but those all unraveled as she shared a prayer with her dashing groom minutes before they walked down the aisle. Eli is well spoken and sweet, and they are certainly a precious couple full of so much love for one another.
We spent our morning traipsing around spots where Whitney grew up, snapping photos that would become precious keepsakes of the moments before she embarked on the new life ahead of her. These two, their families, and bridal party blew us away with their ability to push through the strong blasts of cold winds for all of our photo requests. They were such a fun bunch, gracious and kind all day long! That means the world to us as photographers!
The reception at the Pine Inn was one of our favorites to date! Complete with a delicious espresso bar, mashed potato station, a quartet performance, and a crowd ready to party. There was so much love in this day between and around Eli and Whitney and we were honored to document it all. Thank you so much for trusting us to capture these moments for you, Mr. & Mrs. Whaley, hope Punta Cana was a dream come true!
