“Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds,
or bends with the remover to remove:
Oh, no! It is an ever-fixed mark.
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
it is the start to every wandering bark,
whose worth’s unknown,
although his height be taken.”
Sense & Sensibility
We are squeezing out every last drop of Fall, and thankfully the season is being so good to us. I met Ashleigh and Don at Springton Manor where we were welcomed with a ridiculously beautiful evening. The trees have started to lose their leaves, leaving the skeleton of branches which creates these textures and reflections that can only be found in late Fall and Winter.
This couple was particularly nervous, which is always a good sign on my end. For whatever reason, the couples that start the most nervous end up being pros in front of the lens. Don and Ashleigh did just that. They interacted with ease, Don keeping a smile on Ashleigh’s face pretty much the entire length of our evening.
We ended the night with me continuing to ask questions about their relationship. They have so many sweet stories and connections. I guess that is what happens after 12 years of dating. The two are high-school sweethearts and have weathered the years of changes from graduation to college, grad school, moving and so on. There is always such an evident depth with couples that have endured the ups and downs of life through years of seasons.
A big part of their current life is their pup Nala. She joined us with all of her energy and even put on a happy face for her family picture.
Within minutes of departing, the clouds quickly rolled in, blanketing the County with a dark light. It held off just long enough to allow us to get all these pretty images. Don and Ashleigh, you crushed it.
