Sam & Kora {Brunch Wedding}

“But you’ve slipped under my skin, invaded my blood and seized my heart.”

Sam & Kora {Brunch Wedding}So much good to say about this day, so much love for this couple.

Sam & Kora planned their wedding in under three months. With engagements stretching years, that is most definitely a daunting task. But there is something to that. The day fell together perfectly and every fiber of it was about the couple and their love.

I met the bride at her parent’s home early in the morning, where her sister, fresh off of a plane and a full day of moving, was putting the finishing touches on hair and makeup (Maid of Honor for the WIN.) The bride’s mom was steaming the gown and her grandma came to join the celebration. As the new day unfolded, Dad threw together some scrambled eggs and put on a pot of coffee.

Kora is vivacious. A classic beauty. Her mom helped her slip into her elegant, beaded gown, adorning the look with simple pearl earrings. Of course, surrounded by her best girls (including grandma) we took some time to photograph the whole group.

Wrapping up with the girls, I traveled to Bryn Athyn. I had heard of this hidden Philadelphia gem and was anxious to see it in person. This church quite literally took my breath away; with its sweeping pillars and perfectly manicured lawns, it was something I feel I’ve seen in the rolling countryside of England, not Philadelphia. Yet here it was in all of its beauty. The weather perfectly matched the feel of this location; a misty and cool morning, full overcast.

The ceremony began and through the opened church doors, the sun decided to peek out. We had been watching the weather closely, a day that called for downpour held off magical for this bride and groom.

I see a lot of weddings, and I am always so appreciative of a minister that keeps things lively and dynamic. Sam and Kora’s ceremony fell perfectly under this description. Poems were read by friends and the whole event felt so sacred, heavy with the weight of the commitment the two were making but in such a blessed way. It is so evident how very loved and supported these two are by their friends and family.

Kora’s long veil blew perfectly in the wind, as I had to stop myself from photographing all afternoon on the grounds of Bryn Athyn. We ventured to brunch, located at The Blue Bell Inn. Let me tell you, this place KNOWS how to do brunch. Tucked away inside, the clouds opened and the called-for-rain came in perfect timing. Guest enjoyed endless brunch options, from a custom omelette station to waffles, sausage, french toast, fruit…and of course, plenty of coffee.

What a sweet celebration, what an amazing couple. I was so honored to be a part of this day! Thank-you for choosing me to document the whole celebration!
