Kody & Kaitlin {Wedding}

“Call it fate, destiny, call it luck you ended up with me
But some things are meant to be
Coincidence, circumstance
Or something bigger thats just out of our hands
But some things are meant to be.”

Kody & Kaitlin {Wedding}

July 7th brought us back to The Stoltzfus Homestead for one of our favorite weddings so far this season! It was one of those days that one just had the sense that even if it were pouring rain all day, or someone could forget the rings, or the power went out; still everyone would be happy and invested in the moment. This was the kind of day that was fueled by powerful love between the bride and groom, their families, and everyone who came to be part of it.

Kody and Kaitlin’s country romance was reflected in their day. Cowboy boots for everyone, cornflower blue dresses for the ladies, classic country playing all night long, and, of course, the classic country beauty that is Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens, complete with grand white barns, a towering silo, and windmill.

While the decor and setting was beautiful, what we loved the most was the excitement and emotion that was present all day long. While it was one of the larger bridal parties we’ve had in a long time, it was also one of the kindest. Kaitlin’s girls were calm and helpful, proud of their friend, and eager to help. The guys were calm and friendly, took direction well, and truly seemed to be enjoying themselves. Both sides of the family followed suit. Let me tell you, kind people make a wedding day even a million times more beautiful.

The day was seasonably warm and the sky was blue and sprinkled with picturesque round white clouds. Kaitlin and Kody first saw each other at opposite ends of the isle in the Tobacco Barn, the stage lit with twinkling lights wrapped around beautiful pine trees hand cut from Kody’s family tree farm. Sweet vows and 4 or 5 first kisses later, the two were married. Cocktail hour greeted guests with various flavors of popcorn, soft pretzels, and plenty of drinks to take the edge off of the heat. As the celebration continued inside the historic grand barn, the clouds unleashed a furious rain that yielded a perfectly cool summer’s eve. The bride and groom sang their hearts out to all of their favorite songs as they danced and celebrated their marriage with all of their family and friends. We loved this day, Kody and Kaitlin! Thank you for inviting us to be part of it! Enjoy your road trip to Maine!
