John & Maryellen {Wedding}

a mystery,
and the most certain thing I’d ever known.”

John & Maryellen {Wedding}

October. Our busiest month of the year, and it started with a bang. Tessa and I have had our eyes on this weekend on our calendars for a while now, and we kicked off our triple header weekend with John and Maryellen’s wedding. It couldn’t have been a better day to get us energized for the long weekend.

The morning began quietly, but excitement buzzed in the air as the girls and guys prepped separately. The pair chose a classic Country Club day with the bridesmaids in formal black gowns and the guys all in matching tuxes. Maryellen spent a few precious moments with her beloved grandmother while her girls finished getting ready, and they headed off to the church. John and the guys were just as excited as the girls in the morning as they tied their ties and buttoned up their tuxes layer by layer, taking occasional breaks only for snacks, toasts, and a celebratory shot of Fireball. With the groomsmen out the door, John took a few moments to read a heartfelt letter from his soon-to-be wife.

Family and friends gathered and filled the pews in the gorgeous St. Matthew’s Church as the bridal party lined up behind the scenes. John and Maryellen beamed as they saw each other from opposite ends of the aisle, and any nerves from the morning fell away. After their vows, the newlyweds hopped in their getaway car and headed for Overbrook to reunite with their bridal party for photos.

The bride seemed like a new woman when we met her at the reception. With John’s steady and calming presence next to her, she was able to let her bubbly personality shine. The two were in their own little world of bliss as we snapped photos of them around the Golf Club’s grounds. The groom was just as into photos as the bride, which we don’t see too often, but it is always a welcome treat. We took advantage of the lush green fields and trees, and the sun peeked out of the clouds just in time to give us some warm light at sunset.

Guests were welcomed into the reception by a live band, and everyone hit the dance floor as soon as the bride and groom finished their first dance. Toasts followed dinner and showed the bride and groom just how loved they are by their friends and families. The band kept the party going until the last dance, and what a party it was.

What a beautiful day and an even more beautiful couple. Every detail was perfectly planned to a T, and we are so thankful for their organization and their willingness in keeping this day on schedule. It was an honor to be able to be a part of such a lovely day! Congrats and best wishes Maryellen and John!
