Hal & Jess {Wedding by Tessa}

“And darling I will be loving you ’til we’re 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am”
– Ed Sheeran – Thinking out LoudHal & Jess {Wedding by Tessa}
October 7th 2018, Philadelphia was bustling with activity. The sun has hidden it’s face a lot lately, so with its return the excitement was palpable from the streets to The Lokal Hotel where Jess and her girls were preparing for the day ahead. Jess is a free spirit with a killer sense of humor. She is go with the flow and just downright a good time. I knew before walking into the building that the girls would be enjoying their morning. They popped champagne, turned up the music and helped Jess slip into her gorgeous gown. We were then ready to take on Old City.

Unbeknown to us before the day, Old City was throwing their Fall open market, shutting down streets and attracting people from all over town. Rather than let it get in the way, the girls took it on with style, stopping many in their tracks with the beauty of this bride.

Next up was the first look, the historic cobblestone streets paired perfectly with the classy black tux of the groom and the Pronovias gown with Jimmy Choo heels of the bride. Hal turned to see his girl and his jaw dropped.

We joined the rest of their crew on a bus, and lived up to the party bus description. The music was loud and the celebration was live as we made our way to City Hall. A short session with the bridal party at the iconic building was followed by some beautiful couple portraits. Haley and I literally had to stop ourselves from continuing to shoot. We could have gone all afternoon with these two!

We made our way to the Kimmel Center, a venue that has been our our bucket list and paired with the vendors that Hal & Jess carefully selected we knew the entire event would be perfection.

The venue and details exceeded all of our expectations. We already knew the couple was amazing from working with them for the months leading up to their day and throughout their wedding morning and afternoon. But all of the carefully selected attributes for their day took everything to another level. Fresh Design Florists created the most exquisite suspending flower arbor that was placed over the ceremony space and dance floor. Shannon Wellington was the wedding planner for the day, and not only did her and her crew help everything run smoothly and on time (our favorite thing), but all of the details were meticulously chosen and cared for, from the welcome package for guests, to the program and every detail of the reception that followed the ceremony.

The ceremony took place with friends and family witnessing sweet vows and the proclamation of marriage. While the staff turned the room, guests enjoyed cocktail hour with a patio view overlooking Broad Street and the most unique view of City Hall.

The reception was a party for sure, although we had no doubt it would be. Hal and Jess started things off with a choreographed dance ending with inviting their bridal party to join in. Toasts were given and dinner was served. Klock Entertainment, another favorite vendor, brought the jams and filled the dance floor.

What a fun, fun day. Haley and I couldn’t have been more honored to document it all! Congrats to the New Mr. & Mrs. Parsons.
