“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That’s what I hope to give you forever.” – The Notebook
David & Johanna are possibly the sweetest couple we have ever had. So to say we were excited for this day is an understatement. Haley and I started our mornings in Philadelphia, and two hours later were welcomed by an entirely different view once we arrived at Wyndridge Farm. Green earth met with unending blue skies and paired with the most perfect puffy white clouds. It was breathtaking.
A last minute game time decision brought the ceremony indoors, and while the original plan was to have the wedding outside, plan b was just as good. High ceilings and wooden beams stretch across the barn. Johanna walked down the aisle, arm in arm with dad, and David was the literal version of the emoji “heart eyes”.
This bride has a voice that brings chills with it’s beauty as she gifted her guests and soon-to-be husband with a song of praise. The ceremony was sentimental and clearly defined that this marriage would be a God centered commitment. A relationship with God at the forefront is bound to be a success and these two so evidently walked that out in their dating and engaged stages. It is going to be so amazing to see how they walk that out in their marriage.
Storm clouds were looming heavily in the distance, there was no denying it was.gonna.rain. We ran the bridal party outside to grab a few shots and could hear the rain coming for us in the distance. And then the rain arrived, relentless and heavy, but indoors the celebration was unwavering as guests enjoyed cocktail hour and family photos were taken.
The reception began with introductions and then a choreographed dance by the bride and groom. Elegant and classic…they crushed it. Delicious food, wonderful speeches, cake pops and dancing were on the agenda for the rest of the evening. What a celebration!
We joked throughout the day that the couple faced every type of weather, from heat to blue skies, to torrential downpour, BUT THEN they were gifted with, hands down, the best golden hour light we have had all year. The sun drenched the trees in orange and yellow hues, the raindrops glistening from the passing storm. We oohed and ahhed as these should-be-models interacted with such ease and adoration.
The day was as perfect as expected and we were truly so honored to capture it all! Thank-you for allowing us to be a part of your love story. Praying God blesses your new marriage like crazy!

What a perfectly beautiful wedding day even tho it did rain, all was just perfect. Sorry that I was not able to attend but grateful that I was able to view the Notebook. Johanna, even though we only met once, I love you so very much as I love your parents. David, I haven’t personally met you, my love extends to you as we have met on Facebook . I wish David and Johanna all the very best through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You have definitely taken the best step of all by having a Christ centered wedding. God bless you and keep you both from the bottom of my heart.
With love,
Great Aunt Penny Steel
