“All their life in this world and all their adventures had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle
Bryce and Katelyn were our 42nd and last wedding of the 2016 year and we can think of no better way to have ended the season.
The evening before, temperatures dropped drastically and with it came freezing rain and unpleasant conditions. What threatened to make for a messy day, somehow turned into the most beautiful backdrop. The rain held off and in its place a dusty covering of snow.
It was only fitting that this bride and groom spent the morning in their childhood homes which happened to be only steps away from one another. Bryce and Katelyn were next door neighbors, a strong friendship that ultimately lead to marriage. A fairytale ending that their parents had prayed and dreamed for.
This day was about so much more than pretty dresses, exquisite flowers and yummy food. Rather, it was a testimony to God’s faithfulness in the lives of two families. The ceremony was sweet, with words from each of the parents and a time of worship while singing “Then sings my soul, how great thou art”.
It was such a special celebration to be a part of. Bryce and Katelyn, thank-you for allowing us to capture your day!
And with that, our 2016 weddings our a wrap. 2017…we’re coming for ya!
