“I’m much more me when I’m with you.”
Busy season is good…don’t get me wrong. We just get in the zone and have a blast creating new imagery, hanging with our awesome couples along the way. But then there are some days where we feel real tired and quite frankly, unmotivated. With a few crazy weeks behind us, this past Sunday, Haley and I were feeling the exhaustion.
We traveled to historic Chestertown, a quaint little town tucked away in Kent County, Maryland. It was something out of a movie set. Surrounded by a beautiful lake that feeds into the nearby Bay, boats are docked by gorgeous homes. There is a peace that fills the street. Just entering the town offered these two tired photographers a much needed breath of fresh air and an invigoration for the evening ahead.
Then we got to hang with Andrea and Addison and all our energy returned. Seriously, they couldn’t have made the night more fun. We walked the streets of the little town, which holds a ton of sentimentality for this couple. Addison’s parents own a home right on the water and over the last year plus, they have spent holidays and weekends away taking in some of the most beautiful sunsets this side of the Mississippi. Truly, they are unrivaled.
We ended the evening taking in one of these amazing sunsets, as Addison and Andrea popped champagne on the dock. We were welcomed into the Haller’s home afterwards and chatted about how small the world is when you grow up in Lancaster County and getting to hear more about how this couple’s love story unfolded. By the end of the evening it felt as if we had spent the previous few hours with old dear friends.
Andrea and Addison, THANK-YOU for making our job so fun and so worthwhile. You guys remind us why we feel so very privileged to get to do what we do. Cannot wait for August 11th.
